Dog Grooming FAQs

Most pets should be groomed every 2–3 weeks.

This schedule matches your pet’s natural 21-day skin cycle, helping prevent buildup of dead skin and hair, reducing shedding and odor, and keeping the coat healthy and comfortable.

As a bonus, pets groomed on this regular schedule automatically qualify for our 10% Maintenance Discount — our way of rewarding consistency and keeping your pet feeling their best.

Our full-service groom is a comprehensive spa day for your dog. It typically includes a luxury bath with premium shampoo, a gentle blow-dry, a thorough brush-out, nail trimming and grinding, ear cleaning, and a full haircut or de-shedding treatment tailored to your dog’s breed and your preferences. Every groom is performed with care and precision inside our state-of-the-art mobile grooming Salon.

.

Yes, absolutely! Regular home brushing is essential, especially for dogs with long or curly hair. It prevents painful mats from forming close to the skin. If a dog is severely matted, we may have to shave the coat short for their safety and comfort. We are happy to show you the best brushing techniques for your dog’s coat.

Every pet is different, so grooming times can vary. The times we share are typical estimates, and please keep in mind they may still change. We always provide a one-hour arrival window in case we arrive toward the end of it. Once grooming begins, small breeds usually take 45–90 minutes, while larger breeds may take 3 hours or more, depending on their coat condition.

Yes! We carry a variety of high-quality and hypoallergenic shampoos designed to soothe sensitive, itchy, or dry skin. If your pet has been prescribed a special shampoo by your veterinarian, we’re more than happy to use the product you provide. We also use conditioner on every pet—this is especially important for sensitive skin, as it helps restore moisture and adds a protective layer back to the coat and skin, keeping your fur kiddo healthier and more comfortable.

Yes — by request only.

Anal gland expression is not necessary for every pet, and performing it when it isn’t needed can cause irritation or other adverse effects. For this reason, we strongly recommend that a veterinarian determine whether your pet actually needs anal gland expression.

If your vet has advised it and you request the service, we are happy to provide external expression only as part of the grooming visit.

For the safety of all our clients, we maintain a strict flea- and tick-free environment. If we find fleas or ticks on your dog, we will administer a flea bath at an additional cost to eliminate them. We will notify you immediately if this occurs.

We groom about 99% of the breeds out there! The only exception is when a pet is both a giant breed and has a very heavy coat. It’s not because we don’t adore them (we do 💕), but since our stylists typically work solo, grooming at that level usually requires a team effort to ensure the pet’s safety and comfort. We still happily groom breeds like Great Danes and St. Bernards, but extra-large, extra-fluffy pups such as Newfoundlands and Great Pyrenees need a little more than we can provide in a solo setting.

Fear Free Dog Grooming FAQs

As Fear Free Certified Professionals, we are trained to recognize and reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in pets. This means we use gentle handling techniques, positive reinforcement, and a calm environment to make the grooming experience as pleasant as possible. Learn more about our approach on our Fear Free Dog Grooming page.

This is a common sensitivity. We use a gradual, patient approach, often using treats and praise to build a positive association with having their paws handled. We never force a pet to endure something they find stressful. Our goal is progress, not perfection, in every session.

Yes, when needed. Our goal is always to work patiently with each pet using fear-free handling techniques to reduce stress and prevent a muzzle from being necessary. However, in certain situations, a muzzle may be the safest option to protect both the pet and our groomers. Any use is always thoughtful and focused on keeping everyone safe and comfortable.

Cat Grooming FAQs

While cats do groom themselves, professional grooming is still important. Self-grooming causes cats to ingest loose hair and debris, which can lead to hairballs and digestive discomfort. Regular grooming helps reduce shedding, hairballs, and dander in your home while keeping skin and coats healthy. Grooming is especially helpful for long-haired breeds, senior cats, and overweight cats who may struggle to reach certain areas. For more details, visit our Cat Grooming Services page to learn how we support your feline’s comfort and well-being.

Not necessarily. Many cats react to water simply because they weren’t introduced to grooming at a young age. Without early, gentle exposure, water can be quite literally surprising later in life. Just like introducing a baby to new experiences, patience and a gradual approach make all the difference. A brush-out service is a great way to introduce cats to grooming in a calm, low-stress way, and it’s what we recommend for most first-time visits. From there, your stylist can guide you on the next steps of grooming based on your cat’s comfort level, coat needs, and overall experience—always moving forward at your cat’s pace. 🐾

Mobile Cat Grooming FAQs

Our Salon is designed to be as quiet and calm as possible. We start slowly, introducing everything one step at a time, giving breaks as often as necessary. We create a serene environment to minimize stress, a key feature of our Mobile Cat Grooming page service.

Absolutely. Mobile grooming is the perfect solution for cats who dislike car rides. By coming directly to you, we eliminate one of the most stressful parts of the grooming process. Mobile grooming also significantly reduces stress because your cat is not surrounded by overwhelming stimuli like barking dogs, other anxious pets, people talking, or phones ringing. Instead, your cat enjoys a much calmer and quieter, one-on-one grooming experience in a private space. Once grooming is complete, they’re immediately back in the comfort and familiarity of their home — making the entire experience gentler and more peaceful for your cat.

Cat Grooming for Anxious Cats FAQs

We specialize in grooming anxious and sensitive cats and often work with cats who struggle in traditional grooming or veterinary environments. Our one-on-one, professional, Fear free approach can make a big difference for many cats. That said, we cannot guarantee that every cat will be fully groomed. Each appointment begins with an honest assessment, and we will never push a cat beyond its limits or compromise their safety or well-being. A $75 service fee applies to all cat grooming appointments, regardless of how much grooming we are able to complete. This fee covers our time, travel, and professional care.

We use a variety of safe, respectful, and cat-focused handling techniques tailored to each individual cat. Our approach is centered around working with the cat on their level, not forcing them into a process that increases fear or stress. We are well-versed in reading feline body language and social cues and adjust our handling in real time to help keep stress and anxiety as low as possible. This includes giving cats space when needed, maintaining calm energy, and allowing them a sense of control throughout the grooming process. Our top priorities are safety, trust, and never pushing a cat beyond their boundaries.
